Saturday, December 14, 2013- 6pm Winter Solstice Concert at the Historic Colton House
Celebrate Winter Solstice during this magical evening as we welcome back the light! Ponderosa Players, a chamber ensemble of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra will be performing festive music in the cozy, historic Colton House for a small group of very special guests. Join us for light hors d’oeuvres, wine and the Ponderosa Players on this joyous occasion.
“The Colton House concert is a favorite event for audience and players alike. We enjoy the intimate and historic setting, the pleasure of performing small ensemble and solo works, the excitement of upcoming holidays, the chance to visit with all the guests, and the fabulous food. We will feature a variety of beautiful music, seasonal and non-seasonal, from arrangements of an aria from J.S. Bach's "Christmas Oratorio", to Beethoven's 5th Symphony, first movement, to Ian Clarke's solo flute work "The Great Train Race" to Frank Loesser's "Baby, It's Cold Outside". Something for everyone, for all ages to enjoy. Colton House is rarely accessible to the public. Come be a part of this event, get acquainted with one of the most interesting and important historic homes in Flagstaff and support the Flagstaff Symphony!” -Jeannette Moore, Principal Flute, Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra
Tickets are $60 each and available to members of the Flagstaff Symphony Association and members of the Museum of Northern Arizona. For tickets please call Shannon at MNA at: (928) 774-5211 ext. 219.
