Volunteering
Flagstaff Symphony Guild
This dynamic and successful auxiliary of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra was organized 56 years ago to provide support for FSO through volunteer service and fundraising.
Guild membership includes men and women devoted to supporting the FSO. Lunch meetings are on the second Friday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at The Cottage Place, where the group socializes, strategizes and plans fundraisers, events and get-togethers.
The Guild’s annual calendar includes providing dinner for the orchestra at the July 4th concert and sponsoring the hugely popular Lollipop Concert for children in the winter holiday season. For more information call the symphony office at 774.5107.
Sedona Flagstaff Symphony League
The League is a Sedona auxiliary of men and women, formed to encourage friendship in the town of Sedona among lovers of FSO’s outstanding and varied concerts and to provide financial support for the symphony.
Popular fundraising events include the Author’s Luncheon, where noteworthy Arizona writers discuss and autograph their latest works, a series of bridge luncheons held monthly in Sedona homes, and an autumn Sunday afternoon musicale and reception featuring a chamber concert in an intimate setting.
The League also plays an important role in music education for Sedona’s young people, bringing in small groups of musicians and educators to play and lead discussions.
Vivace
A social networking group, Vivace brings young professionals together before symphony concerts and at symphony-related events to meet and connect. If you’re between the ages of 25 and 40 and want to experience classical music, meet new people, and become more involved in the arts scene, consider Vivace.
Membership benefits include invitations to special events, discounted tickets to the annual spring gala and opportunities to meet and greet the FSO musicians and guest artists.
Concert Volunteers
Handing out programs. Helping patrons find their seats. Greeting concertgoers in the lobby. These are some of the tasks that our dozens of concert volunteers perform for each of our seven masterworks concerts in Ardrey Auditorium. During our 2009–2010 season, 91 volunteers gave 771 hours of time. If you’re interested in joining our squad of concert volunteers, call our office at 774.5107.
