Beethoven 5K

The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra announces a new event for the whole community, the Beethoven 5k!  The outdoor event is a 3.1 mile, professionally timed race for runners and walkers with activities for the whole family.  The race will be held on Saturday July 18, 2020 at beautiful Buffalo Park on McMillan Mesa in Flagstaff AZ.

The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra usually performs Beethoven’s 5th Symphony in a concert hall, but on July 18 runners and walkers will have the opportunity to be in the performance of Beethoven’s 5k! In honor of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven, we invite the community to join members of the FSO, whether your speed is andante, allegro or presto, around the mostly- flat, foot friendly path. Known for his bold, powerful and expressive compositions, the 5th Symphony epitomizes Beethoven’s talent and force.  In a 1k Kids Dash, young runners may even see Beethoven himself running alongside!

LEVEL 1 $35 UNTIL MAY 17

LEVEL 2 $40 UNTIL JULY 17

DAY OF (ONSITE ONLY) $45

Athletes will be professionally timed and can track their results on Chronotrack and Athlinks.

Packet pick up will take place on July 17 at the FSO offices downtown. On site registration is from 8-9 am on July 18, with the race beginning at 9:30 am. Join the FSO for a day of orchestral music, fun swag items, and awards crafted by a local artist. Bring the kids for a 1k fun run which is a $10 donation on site.

Enjoy the outdoors and get exercise, all while listening to the sounds of Beethoven’s bold, powerful, and expressive 5th Symphony. Runners of any speed and ability are encouraged to participate. Register today to save! Remember, when you exercise to classical music, you exercise your brain as well as your body!

Buffalo Park is located on McMillan Mesa at 2400 N Gemini Rd, Flagstaff, Arizona.
