SUMMARY:Haydn and Beethoven: Victory in Times of Struggle
DESCRIPTION:Prepare to be engulfed in a larger-than-life choral sound when NAU Shrine of the Ages\, directed by Timothy Westerhaus\, joins the FSO to perform Franz Joseph Haydn’s hopeful Missa in Angustiis (Mass in Troubled Times)\, also known as the “Lord Nelson” mass.  The combination of orchestra and voices will be nothing short of amazing for what Haydn’s chief biographer called “arguably his greatest work.” The performance will feature the following soloists: Andrea Zomorodian\, soprano; Mindy Ella Chu\, mezzo-soprano; Adam Faruqi\, tenor; John Buffett\, baritone. \nIn the same spirit of victory\, the orchestra presents Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony\, a twisting journey of tension\, beauty\, and uncertainty that arrives at one of the great victorious resolutions in the classical repertoire. This piece will end season 73 on a triumphant note! \nSingle tickets are on sale now! \n[nectar_btn size=”large” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Extra-Color-2″ color_override=”#747FBD” icon_family=”none” el_class=”gtrack” text=”Get Tickets” url=”https://events.nau.edu/event/haydn-and-beethoven-victory-in-times-of-struggle/”]
