Join the Melody – Support the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra on Giving Tuesday

For 75 years, Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra has been a heartbeat of our community. This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support the continuation of excellent concerts, the Lullaby Project, and Link Up by raising $7500 to commemorate 75 years of the FSO!

FSO Musical Impact

Celebrating 75 years of musical excellence this year, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra is the largest and most active performing arts organization in northern Arizona.

Our mission is to enrich, engage, and inspire our community through the performance of orchestral music.

About The Lullaby Project

The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra is a national partner in the Lullaby Project, a program of Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI) that pairs pregnant women and new mothers and fathers with professional artists to write personal lullabies for their babies. The lullabies get professionally recorded so the families have them forever.

The participants are offered a creative opportunity to communicate feelings, hopes, and dreams as they look to the future with their child.

The Lullaby Project supports maternal health, aids childhood development, and strengthens the bond between parent and child.

To date, FSO songwriters have created over 15 lullabies with local Flagstaff moms met through the Teenage Parent Program at Summit High School, The Guidance Center, and Flagstaff Doulas.

About Link Up

Link Up is a music education program created by Carnegie Hall to unite the classroom with the concert hall, giving students in grades 3–5 the opportunity to explore music through a yearlong curriculum of classroom activities and a culminating concert in which students perform with the Flagstaff Symphony
Orchestra.

Students will explore orchestral music through a hands-on music curriculum. The program of skills-based and creative work in the classroom will culminate in a lively interactive concert at Ardrey Auditorium giving students the chance to demonstrate what they have learned by singing and playing recorder with the Flagstaff Symphony from their seats in the audience.

Guided by conductor Charles Latshaw, the hour-long program of music-making and student response activities will also incorporate some of the students’ original compositions, student singers and players on stage, as well as soloists performing with the orchestra.

A donation on Giving Tuesday can help keep these programs alive and growing!
