Warmly welcomed back to Flagstaff after her triumphant debut with FSO in 2015, Rachel Barton Pine performs the virtuosic Saint-Saëns violin concerto. The tone of the Chicago violinist, playing a prized 1742 Guarneri instrument that is on permanent loan to her, is described as an “excellent glass of red wine—full-bodied, rich and complex.”

Rachel Barton Pine on Violin

Anton Bruckner’s “Romantic” Symphony

A Letter From

Conductor Charles Latshaw

“In looking for ways to celebrate our 70th anniversary, I polled our musicians for their favorite FSO guest artists. Rachel Barton Pine was top of the list. Can’t wait to bring her back to flagstaff. Bruckner’s ‘Romantic’ Symphony #4 is an absolute monument of the orchestral repertoire. The kind of masterpiece that an orchestra should only mount once every ten years. In our case, we’ve waited for 70!”
