Serpentine Fire Featuring Tyriq Johnson Celebrates the Intersection of Popular and Orchestral Music

After its return to live performance in the 21-22 season, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra will bring even more live orchestral music to Flagstaff and the surrounding communities! This June marks the beginning of FSO’s inaugural Summer Concert Series, three outdoor symphony concerts held at Fort Tuthill’s Pepsi Amphitheater in Flagstaff, AZ.

The first concert of the Summer Series will turn Pepsi Amphitheater into a “Boogie Wonderland” when Serpentine Fire featuring Tyriq Johnson joins the orchestra to perform the music of Earth, Wind and Fire! Come ready to sing along to fan favorites like “September,” “Shining Star,” “Let’s Groove,” and “After the Love is Gone”, among many others! The show involves the orchestra in all arrangements and performance in a celebration of this contemporary American songbook.

This concert, in conjunction with events at the Murdoch Community Center, is part of Flagstaff’s annual Juneteenth celebration (commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S.). To add to the festive spirit, June 19th is also Father’s Day this year! The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra hopes that you will enjoy this spirited, funky concert with friends and family. Grab your sunscreen, hats, and lawn chairs, and join the FSO for possibly one of its most delightfully entertaining concerts to date!
